Mildred Pierce, age 105, of Kankakee, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Miller Healthcare Center in Kankakee.
Visitation was held at 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home in Kankakee.
Mildred was born November 17, 1911 in Chicago, the daughter of Adolph & Frances Kral.
Her first husband, George Kotalik passed away in 1963. On September 17, 1967, Mildred married
Robert G. Pierce in Warrenville. He preceded her in death on March 5, 2012.
Mildred had been a homemaker. She was an avid crafter and was passionate about making headbands for children through St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Mildred was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are one son, George Kotalik of Kankakee; several step-children, including one step-son, Dr. William & Phyllis Pierce of Crown Point, IN; two grandchildren, Michael Kotalik and Carrie Kotalik; three great-grandchildren, Tallon, Nicholas, and Isabella; several step-grandchidlren; and several step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she is preceded in death by her parents; and ten siblings.
Interment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
