Mary Kay Slack, age 68 of Bradley, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Lightways Hospice of Joliet.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the 5:00 p.m. funeral service on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home, Kankakee. Deacon Greg Clodi will officiate the service. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.

Mary Kay was born April 1, 1956, in Kankakee, the daughter of Lawrence and Dorothy (Henrion) Slack.

Mary Kay was a retired employee of Kmart. 

Mary Kay was a graduate of Bishop McNamara High School, St. Mary of the Woods, and Ray Vogue School of Interior Design. She enjoyed crocheting, arts and crafts.

Mary Kay was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bradley.

Surviving is one sister, Ruth Ann (Skip) Chinski of Kankakee; one brother, Lawrence “Bud” (Julie) Slack of McLeansville, North Carolina; two stepbrothers, Patrick Sobol of Sandwich, Theodore "Ted" (Joanne) Sobol of Maplewood, NJ; several nieces and nephews. Mary Kay is preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Theodore Sobol; and one niece Katie Schingel.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
