Mary Colleen Kilbride, age 96 of Pontiac, formerly of Bourbonnais, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025, at OSF St. James Hospital, Pontiac.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at St. John Paul II, Kankakee. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Bourbonnais.
Colleen was born on May 28, 1928, in Streator, IL the daughter of Emmett and Eileen (Dunn) Coughlin. She married Leo Kilbride on June 17, 1950, in Kinsman, IL. He preceded her in death on July 31, 2010.
Colleen was the manager of Kankakee County Mutual Fire Insurance Company. She worked at Kankakee Community College and for the Kankakee Clinic of the VA Hospital in Dwight, IL.
Colleen was a parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bradley and St. John Paul II, Kankakee. She was president of the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, Kankakee.
Colleen was a member of the Tuesday Book Review, St. Joseph Council of Catholic Women, Provena St. Mary’s Auxiliary where she served as secretary and a volunteer at Provena St. Mary’s Hospital. She was an associate with the Servants of the Holy Heart of Mary for twenty years.
Colleen enjoyed playing bridge and dancing. Most of all, Colleen found her greatest joy in her faith and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children, Judith (Gary) Donze of Long Point, IL, Former Supreme Court Justice Thomas (Mary Jane) Kilbride of Rock Island, IL, Joseph (Joanie) Kilbride of Downers Grove, IL, Mary Pat (Jim) Scoltock of Lake Villa, IL; two sisters, Dolores Slattery of Dwight, IL, Betty Pfeifer of Dwight, IL; one brother and sister-in-law, William (Carole) Coughlin of Plainfield, IL; two brothers-in-law, Joe Louis of Leawood, KS, Ken Turner of Geneseo, IL; thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Colleen is preceded in death by her husband, Leo; her parents; three sisters, Rita Slattery, Joann Turner, and Joyce Louis; and three brothers-in-law, Robert Slattery, Thomas Slattery, and Elwood Pfeifer.
