Shirley Anne Andreina was born peacefully into eternal life, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at age 89.
Visitation will be held at the Jensen Funeral Home, in Kankakee, on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm. A second visitation will be held at St Joseph Catholic Church, Bradley, from 10 am-11 am on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. The funeral Mass will follow the second visitation on Tuesday at 11 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bradley. Inurnment will be at a future date at All Saint’s Cemetery beside her beloved husband.
Shirley was born October 14, 1935, in Bourbonnais, Illinois, the daughter of Ansel and Cecille (Pombert) Fortin. On June 30, 1956, she married Leonida Andreina at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Kankakee. Shirley worked at Illinois Bell after high school. She then worked at Kmart after working hard to raise her 5 children. She volunteered as a softball coach and in the kitchen at the Bradley Bourbonnais Sportsman’s Club for their chicken dinners. She loved her bowling league.
Shirley was wife of Leonida for 67 years. Loving mother of Kim (Nancy), Karla (Corey) Costello, Kirk, Krista (Don) Sommer and Karie (David) Mueller. Dear grandmother to John Kambic, Leah Kambic, Joe Kambic, Chloe (Ken) Hiley, Thomas (Desiree) Costello, Daniel Mueller and Maria Mueller. Great grandmother to Leon Mueller. Cherished sister of Marilyn (Jack) Kurowski and Karen Leader. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ansel and Cecille Fortin, brothers Terry, Leslie, Richard and Lonnie Fortin and sister Claire Jackson.
