Lorraine Baron, age 95, of Bradley passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the 11 a.m. funeral Mass on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Kankakee.
Lorraine was born November 27, 1929 in Chicago, the daughter of Albert & Helen (Redig) Kirch. Lorraine married Lawrence “Larry” Baron on October 21, 1950 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on October 16, 1984.
Lorraine retired from School District 61, where she had worked as a teacher’s aide and a media clerk. She volunteered at St. Joseph Church, adult tutoring programs, and the Baby Talk Program through Kankakee Community College. Lorraine enjoyed Sodoku puzzles, crossword puzzles, and watching tv, especially game shows. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are five sons, Michael Baron of Novato, CA, Mark Baron of Bradley, Bill Baron of Bradley; Richard (Debra) Baron of Longmont, CO, and Jeffrey (Karen) of Monument, CO; one daughter, Nancy (Paul) Anderson of Frankfort; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Larry Baron, Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Steven Baron and Gregg Baron; one great-grandson, Elliott Orfield; and siblings, Ruth Clarke, Dorothy (Bob) Brock, Philip (Dorothy) Kirch, James (Mary) Kirch, and Bud (Willy) Kirch.
Memorials may be made to the Lymphoma Research Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Association.
