Chester Earl Thomas “Chet” Gifford, age 55, of Buckingham, passed away Friday, May 3, 2019, at his home.
Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2019, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. Cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral Mass. Inurnment will be held at a later date at St. James Cemetery in Irwin.
Chet was born September 23, 1963, in Kankakee, the son of Phillip Sr. & Sheila Deno Gifford.
He worked for a waste management company. He enjoyed model trains and was a member of the Teamster’s Local 731.
Surviving are one son, Thomas Gifford of Buckingham; one daughter, Sheila Gifford of Buckingham; his parents, Phillip Sr. & Sheila Gifford of Largo, FL; six brothers, Phillip Jr. & Nancy Gifford of Chebanse, Robert Gifford of Stelle, Roy Gifford of Land O’ Lakes, FL, Joe & Pat Gifford of Minnesota, Sam & Megan Gifford of Tampa, FL, and Dade & Kristen Gifford of Largo, FL.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents; and one sister, Davida Watson.
