Russell A. “Rusty” LaGesse, age 58, of Bradley passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. 

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley.

Rusty was born May 26, 1966 in Kankakee, the son of Robert “Bob” & Joyce M. (Smith) LaGesse. He attended grade school at St. Joseph Catholic School and was a 1985 graduate of Bradley Bourbonnais Community High School.

Rusty was an animal lover, especially dogs. He was a squire at the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing video games, reading fantasy/sci-fi & movies, and helping family and friends with projects. Rusty was very handy. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley.

Surviving are one sister, Becky “Rebecca” LaGesse of Elgin; several aunts and uncles; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rusty is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Randall “Randy” LaGesse.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or to the family wishes. Arrangements are being made by Schreffler Funeral Home.
