Robert C. McKenna, age 95, of Kankakee passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the Illinois Veterans Home at Manteno.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the funeral Mass at noon on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. Rev. Dan Belanger will celebrate the Mass. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary in Kankakee.

Robert was born May 1, 1922 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Robert E. & Myrtle D. Clark McKenna. He married Laura E. Witheft on July 1, 1951 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kankakee. She preceded him in death on December 8, 2004.

He owned and operated McKenna Dental Lab. He retired as a Dental Technician after 60 years. He was a graduate of St. Patrick High School. Robert served as past president of the Illinois Dental Lab Association. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II. Robert was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy & Leslie Hayden of Kankakee and Mary & Jeffrey Krumwiede of Lexington; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Helen McKenna of Kankakee and Marian McKenna of Herscher. In addition to his wife, Laura McKenna, he is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Clark McKenna and Jack McKenna.
