Janice Jean Gregoire, age 76, of Bourbonnais passed away surrounded by family on October 12, 2024, at her home in Bourbonnais.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Homes, Bourbonnais. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bradley. Burial will follow at St. George Cemetery, St. George.
She was born on December 21, 1947, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee to Eugene and Theresa Gregoire.
Janice spent her life in service to the Catholic church, working as the business manager for 25 years at St. Joseph’s Parish in Bradley and then for 8 years at St. Mary Immaculate Parish in Plainfield. Janice attended Kankakee Community College receiving an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration.
She was an avid cook and baker, carrying on the long-held tradition of baking every kind of holiday cookie imaginable, always with a cookie tin at the ready for any occasion during the holiday season. There was not a family member or friend who could resist her holiday Chex mix.
She was a member of a local book club for many years, attending and hosting book club events with friends. Janice attended clown college in 1986 after which she traveled to fairs and children’s birthday parties performing as Snickers.
Janice is preceded in death by one son, Daniel Mazzuchi. She is survived by two sons and two daughters in law: James and Jodi Mazzuchi of Bourbonnais, Brian Mazzuchi of Bourbonnais and Patricia Mazzuchi; four grandchildren: Andrew Mazzuchi, Alexis Mazzuchi, Emily Mazzuchi, and Katherine Mazzuchi; four siblings: Joseph Gregoire of Belvedere, Jerome Gregoire of Bradley, Fleurette Meents of Bourbonnais, and Phillip Gregoire of Bourbonnais; and six nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by a special cousin, David Gregoire.
Memorials may be made to Uplifted Care, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, or Masses.
