William Burton

William G. Burton, of Bradley, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 at his home.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday March 14, 2017, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Bourbonnais.

He was born July 30, 1926 in Manteno, Illinois, to Roosevelt and Mathilda Longtin Burton. Bill married Joan Moody on June 16, 1945, at St. Rose Catholic Church. Joan preceded him in death on November 28, 2010. He worked at David Bradley for many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. Bill made an effort to stay busy; he liked to putter around the house and fix anything in need of repair.

Mr. Burton is survived by one daughter and son in law, Sue and Alex Sandra of North Liberty, Iowa; one son, Scott Burton of Independence, Missouri; one brother and sister in law, Gordon and Mary Ellen Burton of Bourbonnais; 4 grandchildren, Amy (Randy) Short, Joanna (Rod) Short, David (Jenny) Sandra, Alexandra Burton; and 6 great grandchildren, Kelly, Katie, Calvin, Ryan, Evelyn, and Claire. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one brother, Maynard Burton.
