Robert L. Heil, age 93, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Kankakee, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023 at his home. 

Robert was born June 3, 1929, in Kankakee, the son of Elmer Carl & Iris (Murray) Heil. Robert married Laura Montague on November 7, 1959, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. She preceded him in death on February 29, 2008.

Robert worked in auto sales. He was a 1947 graduate of Kankakee High School and a graduate of Lewis University. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley.

Surviving are brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John & Marla Montague of Bradley, Donna Montague of Bradley, Jan Montague of FL, and Lou Cote of Phoenix, AZ and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Laura Heil, Robert is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Emmit and Kenneth.

Visitation was held on Monday, June 12, 2023, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. A funeral Mass followed at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. Interment was at Mound Grove Gardens in Kankakee.
