Leon “Oddie” Andreina was born peacefully into eternal life, surrounded by his family, on Friday, October 13, 2023, just after his 88th birthday.

Visitation will be held at Jensen Funeral Home, in Kankakee, on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 4:00PM-7:00PM. A second visitation will be held at Jensen Funeral Home from 9:30AM-10:30AM on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. The Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bradley.

Leon was born October 9, 1935, in Lohrville, Wisconsin, the son of Dante and Lucia (Monacelli) Andreina. On June 30, 1956, he married Shirley Fortin at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Kankakee. Leon was a master bricklayer and stone mason; he created many works of brick throughout Kankakee County. He was a member of the bricklayers union for many years.

Leon was the husband of Shirley for 67 years; loving father of Kim (Nancy)Andreina, Karla (Corey) Costello, Kirk Andreina, Krista Kambic and Karie (Dave) Mueller; dear papa to John (Jackie) Kambic, Leah Kambic, Joe Kambic, Chloe (Ken) Hiley, Thomas (Desiree) Costello, Daniel Mueller and Maria Mueller; cherished brother of Dolores Stone, Norene Longtin and Nicholas (Janet) Andreina. He is also survived by his Aunt Jean Monacelli, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ernest “Pooch” Andreina.
