Cynthia Rose Patricia McCorkle, 60, of Piper City, formerly of Urbana, peacefully passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Piper City Rehabilitation and Living Center. She was born on February 17, 1956 in Danville, the daughter of Delmar Dean and Elizabeth (Craft) McCorkle.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Mass will be held afterward at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Bradley. Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Resurrection Cemetery in Danville.

Cynthia was a former member of St. Patrick’s Church in Urbana and volunteered at Mercy Hospital in Urbana. An artist, she received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from Illinois State University and a Bachelors of Art Education and Master of Fine Arts from the University of Illinois. Enjoying adventure, Cynthia planted trees across America and painted portraits on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. She loved reading, nature, classical music, sewing, Celtic history, photography and traveling. Most of all, she loved her family and Jesus.

She is survived by her mother Elizabeth McCorkle of Bradley; two sisters Mary (Michael) Marovich of Naperville and Jeanette (Christopher) Daum of Chebanse; nephews Sean, Collin, Marshall and Joseph Marovich all of Naperville, Ronald Winkel Jr. of Momence and Ryan Winkel of Chebanse; one niece Catherine (Billy) Vigliotti of St. Charles; two great nieces and two great nephews. She is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, her brother Michael Dean McCorkle and her grandparents Mack and Josephine McCorkle and Chester and Kathleen Craft.

Memorials may be made to  St. Joseph Church  in Bradley or  Good Shepherd Manor  in Momence.
