Giving Tree

There is a tree at the main church entrance decorated with paper ornaments. The different shapes are for various ages and organizations receiving gifts to share with their clients. (River Valley Pregnancy Center, Sacred Heart Mission in Pembroke, and the Men’s Shelter at Gift of God Street Church in Kankakee)

Please pick an ornament while you’re at church during Advent and buy a $15-$30 gift. We are asking for new items for these men and women. They are grateful for used donations throughout the year, but we’d like them to have something new at Christmas.

On the weekend of Dec. 16 and 17, we invite you to bring your unwrapped gift to church when you come to Mass and place them under the tree.  Be sure to attach the ornament to the gift. If you have more than one item for an ornament, secure them with a ribbon.

River Valley Pregnancy Center (Gingerbread boy): clothes size infant to 6X, toys for ages newborn to 5, crib sheets

Men’s Shelter (Round ornament): tags will have specific items

Sacred Heart Mission Pembroke (Bell): babies to age 3 toys, clothes, blankets, books, pajamas; (Tree): children 3-8 years toys, clothes, hats, mittens, books, pajamas; (Snowman): children 8-12  toys, clothes, hats, mittens, books, board games, pajamas; (Star): Teens Hoodie sweatshirts, hats, gloves, pajamas; (Present): Adults and seniors  robes, gas or grocery gift cards, ***we suggest getting Manna from the parish***, puzzle books (large print), hats and gloves, sweaters.

Thanks for participating. It will make such a difference. For details, please call Pat Knittel at 708-692-7472.
