Youth Ministry

St. Joseph’s “SNL” Youth Ministry is a Christ Centered Ministry for all High School and Junior High youth. This group helps guide young people into real relationships with themselves and our Lord through sharing faith and the Gospel and by being servants of St. Joseph Parish. A “St. Joe’s Youth Ministry” group is on Facebook.

We meet on the first and third Sunday of the month in the Ministry Center on Prairie Avenue. This is why we’re called “Sunday Night Live!” Our Youth Minister and Leaders strive to lead young people into a deeper relationship with themselves, their peers, their parish, their community, but most importantly with Jesus Christ. This goal is accomplished through faith sharing and the Gospel, and by becoming servants to everyone we come in contact with, and especially St. Joseph Parish. Youth Ministry includes:

  • Community Building: A time for Faith, Fun and Fellowship nurtured in the Catholic faith through various activities and programs.
  •  Faith Sharing: An opportunity for young people to encounter Christ and to form their own faith identity through large group activities, Bible studies, and spiritual development.
  • Leadership Ministry: Made up of adults and teens who are trained to share their faith and assist in the planning of events. These leaders are invited to attend the Diocesan Youth Leadership Conference in the summer.
  • Prayer and Worship: Nurtures a personal prayer life, deepens a young person’s relationship with Jesus, and helps them to see how the Spirit works in their lives. We encourage involvement in the sacramental life of the church, and invite everyone to the Contemporary Mass on the third Sunday of the month at 11 a.m.
  • Retreats: We offer yearly retreats to spiritually renew the youth and to let the light of their faith shine.
  • Service: We encourage everyone to see the needs of those less fortunate in our parish and community. We reach out through the Harvest Sunday food collection, mission trips and more.
